Dr Hook Frontman Dead At 76

Frontman Dennis Locorriere died Saturday at 76, following a battle with kidney disease. Dr. Hook had more than 60 gold and platinum singles. Among their major hits are: ‘The Cover of ‘Rolling Stone’, ‘Sylvia’s Mother’, and ‘Sharing the Night Together’.

Queen II Gets A Remaster

 More than 50 years after it set them on the path to superstardom, “Queen II” has been remixed, remastered, and expanded into the 5 CD/2 LP “Queen II Collector’s Edition” box set. It is out now, with Brian May and Roger Taylor serving as executive producers. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/mr3cub7c

Billy Idol To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Billy Idol will receive a lifetime achievement award at the American Music Awards on May 25th. The punk rock icon joins previous recipients Diana Ross and Rod Stewart in receiving this honor. The recognition comes weeks after Idol's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction alongside Phil Collins, Oasis and Wu-Tang Clan. Dick Clark Productions executives called Idol "a true rock legend whose influence has transcended generations and genres." The '80s rock star created hits including "Rebel Yell," "Dancing With Myself" and "White Wedding." He released Dream Into It, his first album in over a decade, last year. Idol will perform a medley during the ceremony, marking his first AMA performance and first appearance since 2004. Queen Latifah hosts the show airing live from MGM Grand Arena on CBS and Paramount+ at 5 p.m. PST.

KISS Back In The Studio

Gene Simmons says they’re back in the studio. In a video released by Sienna Hernandez, host of the Kiss-themed online show “Kiss By Sienna”, Simmons says: “We just recorded a new song…that Paul wrote. I can't tell you more about it. And that'll be coming out at some point." He also revealed he's working on a documentary about the band's “End Of The Road tour”, which ran from 2019-23.

Oasis Documentary Coming Soon

A documentary about last year’s reunion tour is coming to theaters and Disney+ in late summer. The untitled film was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, and produced by “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight. The doc includes "rehearsal, backstage and onstage access as well as the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam in over 25 years."

Red Hot Chili Peppers Sell Off Catalog

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold their recorded music catalog to Warner Music Group in a deal worth more than $300 million. Five years after the group sold its publishing rights for $150 million, they’ve unloaded their recorded output --13 studio albums in total – in a deal that was completed last Friday.

New Beatles Museum Opening Soon

A new Beatles museum will open at 3 Savile Row in London, the legendary Apple Corps headquarters where the band recorded "Let It Be" and performed their final rooftop concert in January 1969. "The Beatles at 3 Savile Row" features seven floors of never-before-seen archival material, rotating exhibitions, a fan store, and recreated recording studio. The famous rooftop remains accessible to visitors with original railings intact. Paul McCartney said visiting brought back "special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop." Ringo Starr called it "like coming home." Additional details and a second planned experience will be announced soon.

Eagles Expand Vegas Residency

The Eagles have once again extended their historic residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. They announced 6 more shows there: 2 in September, and 4 in November. The new dates will bring Eagles’ Sphere show total up to 64 since they began in September 2024, the venue’s longest-running residency to date.

Rush Reunion Tour

As they get set to launch their reunion tour next month, Geddy Lee explained why they felt the need to do so: “In the back of my heart, it’s felt like unfinished business, like we owed (late drummer Neil Peart) a proper thank you and a celebration.” Lee and Alex Lifeson credit their participation in the 2022 Taylor Hawkins tribute shows with planting the idea of them returning to the road without Peart.

Spice Girls Mini Reunion

Melanie “Mel B” Brown traveled to Leeds, UK to catch a solo show by Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm, who is on the road promoting her new album “Sweat”. In fact, she joined her Spice sister on stage to perform ‘Spice Up Your Life’. Last month, Mel B shut down rumors of a full reunion for the group’s 30th anniversary this year.

Mick Jones In End Stages Of Alzheimer's

Original singer of Foreigner, Lou Gramm said in a podcast interview that founder Mick Jones is “in end stages” of Alzheimer’s”. He had been asked how their relationship is these days. Gramm explained that while it is “good”, their “conversations are… I can’t tell how he is. He’s distant.” Jones stopped performing with Foreigner in 2023, due to Parkinson’s disease.

Phil Collins To Auction Off Personal Archive

Phil Collins will auction off his personal archive this November. Proceeds will go to The King’s Trust (formerly Prince’s Trust), a charity founded by King Charles III in 1976. Among the items on offer are the outfit he wore during Live Aid in 1985, and the pinstripe suit he wore on “Miami Vice” the same year.

Michael Jackson's Glove In Auction

One of Michael Jackson's most iconic accessories, his signature white rhinestone glove, is being sold via auction. The dazzling piece, dating back to 1984 and believed to have been worn on stage, is listed by Nate D. Sanders Auctions. Bidding starts at $50,000, and closes April 30. Scorpions Cancel India Tour

Scorpions have canceled their planned tour of India. The 4-date run was supposed to begin tonight in Delhi-NCR, but a social media post announced they have all been called off “due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.” No other details so far. Don Henley Solo Album Coming to Vinyl

His hit solo album “The End of the Innocence” is getting a new vinyl and digital release. The 1989 record has been remastered from the original tapes and will be reissued June 5 digitally, and on 2-LP 180-gram vinyl for the very first time. The 6-times Platinum album produced 3 top-40 singles: ‘Heart of the Matter’, ‘The Last Worthless Evening’, and the title track.

Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr Duet Coming Soon

It’s as close to a Beatles reunion as we’ll ever see. McCartney has confirmed that his upcoming album “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” will include a duet with Ringo Starr called ‘Home to Us’. The tune’s lyrics are about growing up in Liverpool, and Starr also plays drums on it.

The Black Crowes & Whiskey Myers

The Black Crowes teamed up with country rock band Whiskey Myers on a cover of The Rolling Stones 1973 song ‘Star Star’, out now. The groups will hit the road together this summer on “The Southern Hospitality Tour”, kicking off May 17 in Austin TX. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/bdbczhaa

KISS Kruise Confirmed!

Paul Stanley confirmed that there will be a 2026 edition of the “KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas” event. Over the years, KISS had hosted 11 branded “kruises” that occurred using an actual ship. But last November’s event occurred at Sin City’s Virgin Hotels complex.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have released 2 live videos shot during their current “Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour.” The clips are for performances of the protest song ‘Streets of Minneapolis’ and a cover of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’, both filmed during opening night of the tour at Minneapolis’ Target Center. Def Leppard Tries Viral TikTok Trend

Def Leppard has jumped on the “what were you like in the ‘90s” viral trend, but with a twist. The group posted a video that starts with current clips of the group, and the question, “What were you guys like in the 80s?” The newer vids are followed by throwback clips of the group in the ’80s, soundtracked with their 1983 hit ‘Photograph. "The Man on the Run" - Audible's Words + Music Series

Paul McCartney surprised fans last week with the release of “The Man on the Run”, the newest entry in Audible’s Words + Music series. It offers an expanded look at his career after he left The Beatles, with heavy focus on his time with Wings. The new audiobook grew out of Morgan Neville’s acclaimed documentary “Man on the Run”. Phil Collins Loses Top Spot on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

After leading the race for the first 3 weeks, Phil Collins has been replaced at the top of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 fan vote leader board. As of Sunday, R&B group New Edition, are at #1 with over 700,000 votes, compared to Collins’ 628,000. The rest of the top 5, in order, are: Pink, Luther Vandross, and INXS. "Black Strat" Sells for $14.55 MILLION!

David Gilmour’s iconic “Black Strat” sold for $14.55 million on Thursday at Christie’s New York, becoming the most expensive guitar ever sold. The sale shattered the previous record of $6 million set by Kurt Cobain’s MTV Unplugged Martin acoustic in 2020. Gilmour’s Fender was essential to classic Pink Floyd albums including The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall. He used it on legendary tracks like “Money,” “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” and his iconic “Comfortably Numb” solo. The guitar exceeded pre-auction estimates of $2-4 million. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay originally purchased the Black Strat for $5.245 million in 2019. Jerry Garcia’s custom Tiger guitar also sold for $11.56 million during the same auction. Gilmour previously told Rolling Stone he could part with the instrument because Fender makes perfect replicas for him.

 

"Farewell To Seasons" - Pearl Jam Rock Opera

 Pearl Jam guitarist, Mike McCready, has announced a rock opera based on the Seattle music scene during the rise of grunge. “Farewell To Seasons” will be released Oct. 6 on an album featuring Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band) and Mike Musburger (Posies). Michael Jackson's Bipoic

It’s been announced that the soundtrack to the new biopic “Michael” will drop April 24, the same day the film is released. “Michael: Songs from the Motion Picture” features 13 songs spanning from Jackson’s start as a member of The Jackson 5 to hits from his solo career.
