A stage adaptation of his 1984 cult classic film “Purple Rain” will debut on Broadway in 2027. The musical will run at the Majestic Theatre, with previews beginning March 12 ahead of opening night on April 12. Producers announced the news on Monday, the 42nd anniversary of the movie, and the mega-selling album of the same name.
Roxette got some good and bad news last week. The group’s 1990 smash ‘It Must Have Been Love’ officially joined YouTube’s Billion Views Club. The bad news? Roxette’s 40th anniversary tour had all of its US and Canada dates canceled. A statement on the group’s social media says the tour was “postponed” due to “logistics and hugely increased touring costs.”

Sammy Hagar didn’t wait to respond after David Lee Roth had canceled the remaining dates of his 2026 tour. In a social media video, Hagar thanked his fellow ex-Van Halen frontman for being “out there doing it, supporting the greatest band in the world that we were both part of.” He also invited Roth to come sing a song or 2, or even emcee, at his upcoming Las Vegas residency. Rush are reportedly in talks to launch a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. According to RushIsABand.com, Satellite radio host and noted rock authority Eddie Trunk said on his show that it’s a “done deal” for 16-18 shows next year.
Pink Floyd is being celebrated with a new limited-edition cassette player (!) from the company “We Are Rewind”. It features artwork from the band’s album “The Dark Side of the Moon”, and the only cassette edition of 2023’s 50th anniversary remastered edition of the album.
